Surgery in Buenos Aires
when you come from abroad

An online consultation, tests done in your own country and a stay planned around the procedure. The indication and the plan are defined at an individual medical assessment; results vary by patient and cannot be guaranteed.

Results vary by patient and cannot be guaranteed. The indication and scope of any procedure are defined only after an individual medical assessment.

Timings are indicative. The stay that applies in each case is defined at the consultation, according to the procedure and how each patient recovers.

It all starts with a consultation

Before buying a ticket it is worth knowing whether the procedure applies. That answer comes at the assessment, not before.

Every surgery begins with a personalised assessment consultation.

Before deciding

Check four things.
All of them can be verified.

For a patient who travels, the decision should rest on the surgeon's assessment, the licensing of the facility, the follow-up plan and being able to stay for the time indicated before going home.

That holds for any destination and any professional, this one included: the licence, the training declared and the professional membership are all checked in public registries. M.N. 146.616 appears in REFEPS/SISA, and the membership in the SCPBA roll.

The process

Six steps,
and the first is from home.

The point of organising it this way is to cut down the time you need to be in Buenos Aires.

01
Online consultation By WhatsApp or video call. You send photos and say what you want to achieve; Dr. Jenny assesses the case, answers questions and gives an indicative estimate.
02
Tests in your country Blood work, ECG and a medical certificate as indicated. Done there and sent by email, before travelling.
03
Arrival 2 or 3 days before To settle in, have the final in-person consultation and complete the pre-operative paperwork.
04
Surgery and check-ups In a licensed operating theatre, with anaesthetist assessment. Follow-up in the first days is in person.
05
Clearance to travel The return is authorised when recovery allows it, not when the ticket expires. That is why the stay is planned with margin.
06
Remote follow-up Check-ups continue by video call once you are back in your country.

Care, informed consents and follow-up are available in Spanish, English and Portuguese.

The credentials

All of this
can be verified.

Dr. Jenny Ortega De La Rosa is a Specialist in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Titular Member of the SCPBA — Buenos Aires Plastic Surgery Society, M.N. 146.616 — verifiable in the public REFEPS/SISA registry.

The SCPBA requires an accredited residency and continuous peer review. That is a fact about the society, not a comparison with any other: every country has its own accreditation system, and what matters before travelling is to check this one.

Medical criterion

Nothing is decided
from a screen.

The indication, scope and planning of any procedure are defined only after an individual medical assessment.

Send your photos on WhatsApp and, subject to availability, I will reply with a preliminary assessment for your case. The fee is defined at the assessment consultation.

◆ My approach

Dra. Jenny Ortega
De La Rosa

Specialist in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery

I am a plastic surgeon with a practice focused on facial rejuvenation. My practice covers the whole spectrum of the face: from the Deep Plane Facelift and facial surgery (necklift, temporal lift, blepharoplasty, lip lift, rhinoplasty) to non-surgical treatments (hyaluronic acid, thread lifts, PRP and other injectables).

My criterion: a facelift is not a surgery about age, it is a surgery about laxity. That is why my first job is not to operate, but to assess honestly who is a candidate today — and who is not yet. Titular Member of the SCPBA — Buenos Aires Plastic Surgery Society · M.N. 146.616

Frequently asked

What people ask
before deciding.

Every surgery involves risks. Before deciding, verify the physician's license, the facility's authorization, the proposed procedure, the follow-up plan and the conditions for travelling home. These points are reviewed during the individual medical assessment.

Yes. Dr. Jenny and her team communicate in Spanish, English and Portuguese. All pre-operative communication, informed consent forms and post-operative follow-up are available in English. There is no language barrier for patients from the USA, UK, Canada or Australia.

It depends on the procedure. Blepharoplasty: 10–12 days. Rhinoplasty: 12–14 days. Deep Plane Facelift: 14–18 days. Combined procedures: 18–21 days. Dr. Jenny designs a custom itinerary for each international patient to minimise the total stay while ensuring safe post-operative monitoring.

Yes. Standard pre-operative tests — blood panel, ECG, medical clearance letter — can be done in your home country and sent to us by email before you travel. This allows you to arrive in Buenos Aires fully prepared and reduces the total stay to the minimum required for surgery and initial recovery.

Post-operative follow-up continues by video call or WhatsApp after you return home. Dr. Jenny maintains active communication throughout the entire recovery period and responds to any concern within 24 hours. Risks are assessed individually when operating with a Specialist in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in an accredited facility. Complete surgical documentation is provided so your local physician can assist if needed.
